When a look round is worth it
Plenty of office moves can be quoted from a description. A dozen desks, a ground floor unit, a door onto a yard, and there is not much anybody needs to see.

- Open the cupboards. Genuinely the most valuable thing. What is behind a door cannot be assessed through it.
- Have somebody there who knows what is coming and what is not. A visit that ends with several uncertain answers is less useful than one that ends with decisions.
- Know your dates, even roughly, and say if they are provisional.
- Mention the far end. If the new address can be looked at too, that is often where the surprises are, because it is the half nobody has used yet.
